Author Guidelines
The Seshadripuram Journal of Social Sciences publishes conceptual and empirical papers along with case studies related to social science issues through field research. Authors may submit their papers under any of the following five categories: Conceptual Papers, Empirical Papers, Case studies, Literature review papers, and Book Reviews. All submissions must be made online.
Manuscript:
All manuscripts must be printed on standard A4-size paper (font size 12) in Times New Roman (1.5 space) with page numbers. To facilitate an anonymous review of the paper, please do not include any author information in the main text of the paper. The author’s details with full affiliation must be on a separate cover page only and not in the main text. The authors should make sure that all their tables and figures are numbered with titles and captions. Papers received with the authors’ details in the main text will be summarily rejected.
Cover Page:
The manuscript of a paper should have a cover page providing the Title of the paper, the names and affiliations of all the authors (the order of placing author names should be specified), along with their postal address, phone number, and email address. In the case of multiple authors, the cover page should indicate the designated corresponding author.
Article length/word count:
Articles should be less than 7000 words for research articles and 8000 words in the case of literature review articles. This includes all text, for example, the abstract, references, all text in tables, and figures and appendices.
Abstract page:
There should be an ‘Abstract’ page, which should contain the title of the paper and a summary of the paper (150–300 words). In the Abstract, a minimum of six keywords should be listed and arranged in alphabetical order. The text of the paper should not start on this page but on a fresh page.
Headings:
All section headings should be in 14-point font, and sub-section headings should be in 12-point font. They must be bold-faced and left-aligned. Leave a blank line before each heading. Quotations, if any, should be in italics and centre-aligned.
Notes:
Avoid using footnotes. Use end notes by numbering them serially in the text using superscripts and listing them together on a separate sheet under the heading ‘End notes’ immediately following the text of the paper before ‘References’.
References:
References and Citations should be cited in the style prescribed in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), 7th Edition. All references should be in Alphabetical order. Only those references cited in the main text should be listed at the end of the manuscripts.
Revised Manuscripts:
At the end of the blind review process, the editor will inform the author about the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. If the reviewer suggests any revisions, authors are to revise and re-submit the paper within two weeks, failing which it will be considered a new submission.
Similarity Check:
Before submitting any article to the Seshadripuram Journal of Social Sciences, the author must carry out a similarity check, preferably using Turnitin software. (The setting should be 14 words.) Similarity checks must be below 20 percent. If not, your Article will be rejected. The authors should make sure that their Articles are Grammarly checked and copyedited before sending.
Copy Editing:
All submissions must be copy-edited by the authors. In cases where guidelines are not followed religiously by authors, such Articles may get rejected. Any grammatical or spelling errors may lead to the rejection of the article.
Publication Charges:
The SESHADRIPURAM JOURNAL OF SOCIAL SCINECES does not charge a Publication fee from the authors. Authors are cautioned against several unauthorised agents asking for money for publications. Any such approaches by unauthorised agents must be brought to the attention of the editors.
