Withdrawl Policy
SJSS defines a “withdrawal” as a request to remove a manuscript from consideration in a journal before the manuscript has been formally accepted and published for the journal. It is not a common practice among academic researchers to withdraw a manuscript from consideration in a journal after the manuscript has been fully submitted and assessed by the editor and the reviewers.
SJSS reviewers support our journals on a voluntary basis. Withdrawing a manuscript during or after the peer review process wastes the time of these experts and the time of the editor(s) of the journal as well, which could discourage continued support for the journal and the research community in the future. SJSS reviewers are rendering voluntary reviewing service / support to the journal. Hence withdrawal of a manuscript at any stage of the review process entails a waste of reviewers, editor’s time – which inturn demotivates the research community in the future.
- If an author desires the withdrawal of his article from consideration, SJSS will require a formal appeal from all the authors of the paper concerned, along with a detailed request explaining the reason for withdrawal.
- The SJSS Editorial Board will then be provided with this request.
- Only in the face of the circumstances leading to absolute requirement will the request for withdrawal be taken into consideration.
- In the event of the utilization of the journal’s resources by the article’s author, withdrawal of a submission can not be guaranteed.
- Authors need to ensure that the manuscript is complete in all respects.
- Besides all authors ought to be in agreement before a paper is submitted to a journal for publication.
- It is important to bear in mind that an article accepted under the Open Access (OA) model and if the Article Processing Charges have already been paid, such payment is non-refundable.
